This course offers students the opportunity to learn English in very small groups with their own personal tutor, usually in the informal setting of the tutor's own home. It enables the tutors to get to know the students very well, to ascertain their needs and to help each student with their individual problems or difficulties. Students spend the morning doing formal work. The emphasis is on Listening and Speaking skills. Oral work will take the form of conversation, discussion, dbate, dictation and listening comprehension. However, as studnet spend so much time with their tutor, there is plenty of scope for written work and homework, whihc will be set most days (this could include tasks which will encourage student to talk to their host families, such as interview with various family members, questions about the locality, etc.)

The afternoon sessions are less formal and may include visits to loal museums, galleries and other places of historic and civic interest. They may also enjoy board games, working with a song or video, cooking etc. All activities have a language focus, practised in a more relaxed way. During the day there will be a coffee break at mid morning. For lunch break host families provide a packed lunch.

Lessons begin at 9.30am. There are 4 x 45 minute lessons in the morning. At 13.00 there is a one hour lunch break, and from 14.00 - 16.00 the tutor accompanies the students on sightseeing, cultural activities etc.
