Prices

  • Course prices include English level test, end-of-course Certificate, and photocopied materials
  • Students may purchase/loan a textbook which costs approx €25. The student may sell the book back to the school at the end of the course for the full price as long as the book is in good condition.
  • Course prices do not include Accommodation or Transfer.


Accommodation

  • Host family accommodation prices include breakfast, dinner and a packed lunch.
  • Accommodation Changes: Should a student wish to change family, Kilkenny School of English will do so after giving due consideration and in discussion with both student and family. We reserve the right to charge a change of accommodation fee of €80.
  • Accommodation is offered subject to availability, and should be booked well in advance, especially at high season.
  • Accommodation fees are non-refundable.
  • Host Family accommodation is usually located in Kilkenny city. Most of the accommodation should be within walking distance of the school. If not withing walking distance, transport will be provided by the school/host family.


Starting Dates
You can start any Monday.


Attendance
Students must attend lessons punctually. We require a medical certificate for an absence of one week or more.


Booking and Payment Conditions

  • To book a course please fill the Registration Form on line at www.kilkennyschoolofenglish.com or complete in BLOCK LETTERS all sections of the registration form and send it by fax or post to Kilkenny School of English or email us your details.
  • Following receipt of the Registration Form, a confirmation/invoice will be issued by the school within two working days where possible.



    Payment
  • Payment should be made in EURO and should reach the school account 28 days prior to student's arrival.
  • Payments should be made by Bank Transfer.
  • To pay by Bank Transfer the following is required.

  • All payments should be marked with your invoice number and name.
  • We cannot guarantee that we have received payment unless your bank transfer carries your invoice number.
  • All bank charges are the responsibility of the student.



    Cancellation Policy
  • Cancellation 7 days before course commencement: full refund, subject to a minimum deduction of €100
  • Cancellation less than 7 days before course commencement: full refund, subject to a minimum deduction of €200
  • After commencement of course: No refund will be provided.
  • Should a student have to cut short his stay for a valid medical reason only, the remaining fees will be refunded or credited (subject to a minimum deduction of €100).
  • There is no refund of fees for days missed during the course or for late arrival or early departure
  • Students opting for a less intensive programme after the commencement of course will not receive a refund.
  • Approved refunds will be sent within 30 days of notice of cancellation.
  • All cancellations must be made in writing, the cancellation date being the date on which Kilkenny School of English receives the cancellation in writing.

Visa countries
Cancellation due to inability to obtain a visa: Full refund less €100.

School Holidays 2006/2007

Students attending for longer than 2 weeks will not be refunded for Public Holidays


Please note that the school will be closed on the following Public Holidays in 2008
17th March, Easter Monday, the first Monday in May, the First Monday in June, the first Monday in August, the last Monday in October, 25th December, 26th December. Students starting during such weeks will begin their course on the Tuesday following the Holiday Monday.

  • Refunds will not be made to students for the bank holiday unless the stay is for 2 weeks or less.


    Insurance & Health
  • Students are strongly recommended to take out full travel and health insurance in advance.
  • EU Nationals should bring E111 Forms.
  • Students are responsible for their own personal effects during courses.
  • Students are advised to insure against loss of fees and/or expenses that may be incurred due to cancellation or sudden early departure from a course.

    Visas
  • Students from non-EU countries require a Study Visa to enter Ireland. The minimum requirement for a study visa is a full-time course of 15 hours per week.
  • The school will give all reasonable assistance to students when applying for a Visa.
  • At least 6 weeks is needed to process a Visa application. Please do not apply for registration on a course that will not allow enough time for the processing of the visa application.
  • Visa application forms are available from your nearest Irish Embassy. All fees must be paid in advance and are refundable (except for the €100 deposit) in the case of a visa being refused.
  • The Irish Department of Justice requires proof of proper medical and travel insurance before they will issue a visa.

Postponements

  • If you are unable to attend your course, you may arrange to have it postponed for up to three months.
  • All postponements must be made in writing.
  • You must notify Kilkenny School of English of your new dates and a re-arrangement fee of €50 will be charged.Kilkenny School of English will hold all fees already received for the three-month period.
  • A course may only be re-arranged once.
  • Postponements are subject to availability at the new requested dates.

School Rules
Kilkenny School of English reserves the right to suspend or expel any student for serious misconduct, especially any involving the police, with no refund whatsoever. We make every attempt to adhere to arrangements as outlined on our website, but we reserve the right to alter, cancel, defer or transfer a student to another course. Course and accommodation fees are correct at the time of publication and may change without notice. Only currently enrolled students of Kilkenny School of English are permitted access to and use of the School facilities and amenities.


Our liability
Kilkenny School of English reserves the right to alter prices, terms and conditions without notice. The right is also reserved to decline any person at any time without liability. Kilkenny School of English herewith declares that any arrangements for transport, activities or accommodation are made by Kilkenny School of English as an agent upon the expressed condition that the School shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned by reason of any defect in any vehicle or through acts of default of any company or persons engaged in conveying the passenger, or in carrying out the arrangements of the programmes, or otherwise in connection therewith. No liability is accepted for losses or additional expenses incurred as a result of changes in air, sea, rail, bus or other services, sickness, weather, war, quarantine, strikes or force majeure.


General Conditions
Kilkenny School of English does not assume responsibility for loss, delay or accident of any kind whatsoever that may occur due to fault or negligence of any company or persons carrying out ancillary arrangements.
The School reserves the right to cancel any arrangements or bookings without prior notice if payment conditions are not met.
Any disputes in relation to accounts or services provided will where necessary be heard in the courts of the Republic of Ireland where the bulk of the service is being carried out.

Extras
Any extras to the programme as set out in the School publicity must be requested in advance of arrival in Kilkenny.

Misrepresentation
The School is not liable if there are promises made by agents to students which do not reflect the policies and services of the school as described in the Agent Manual and Brochure. It is the responsibility of the Agent promoting Kilkenny School of English to give a true and accurate description of our programmes.
